Description
"Fireweed Resurgence"
I've driven by this remote location many times in various seasons but too me it's the July transformation that makes a statement worthy of photographing. Taken as the warm light of the morning sun lifted above the horizon
I was struck by the beauty and juxtaposition of brilliant overgrown fireweed perennials consuming and surrounding this abandoned dilapidated ramshackle house,...beauty and decay simultaneously occupying the same space, encapsulating the passage of time and natures survival amidst it all.
Seeing and interpretation when making an image is not always obvious.
As photographers we are sometimes unknowingly historians capturing the last fleeting images of subjects now lost to obscurity.
