Description
Slow Deterioration"
In a sense, we photographers are sometimes unknowingly historians capturing the last fleeting images of subjects now lost to obscurity.
There's something magnetic about subjects that are rustic, abandoned, neglected or just plain dilapidated,..these subjects conjure nostalgic emotions and memories taking us to a past time and place in our subconscious.
Images of such subjects ramshackle decay often exhibit strong textures of weathered and splintered wood, peeling paint or crumbling rust that the viewer's eye can visually feel as if touching it.
Throughout rural Maine back roads long forgotten relics and rusted hulks of a previous generations prosperous times can be found ,...now forgotten to time obsoleted by newer mechanized innovations.,...antique tractors, farm equipment once pulled by horses, wood wagons or buggies, decayed early model cars and more,...left desintegrating on an overgrown pasture or property,..maybe concealed by emerging saplings or hidden within a crumpling barn or collapsing shed ,..just left where it now lies deteriorating away.
Thank you for viewing my work.
