Description
Taken during a heavy snow squal March 2017.
This Robin looked like an over sized humming bird suspended midair as he leaped up flapping his wings to access the hanging fruit.
For almost a month this Robin red breast had been surviving on rotten apples from my apple tree.
My feathered friend devoured 12 to 15 dozen apples to survive leaving behind less than a couple of dozen.
Spring was several weeks away and this robin still kept hanging in there eating rotten fruit.
You can see several more images from the hundreds I'd taken throughout this robin's stay.
l miss the educational experience of working with him and his acceptance of my proximity throughout .
Images taken with a 500mm lens on a full frame digital SLR mounted on a tripod
Many other robin images are included in my collection of work on my website marty-saccone.pixels.com

I saw this on my activity last night but I didn't comment on it as I was so hoping you would send it to me. Yay! You did! Spectacular image, Marty! Your beautiful and identified bird image has been featured by Wild Birds Of The World, a nature photography group. L/F
