Vintage Herring Carrier Capelco metal print by Marty Saccone. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description
Once common from the 1920's thru the late 1950's along the coastal Bay of Fundy/Gulf of Maine, this surviving herring carrier "Capelco" out of Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Canada, exemplifies that heyday of prosperous commercial fishing.
From stationary fish traps called weirs, these boats loaded their holds with upwards of 125,000 pounds of fish and could then run - fully loaded - at up to 12 knots carrying herring to coastal sardine canneries for processing.
