Juxtaposition of new and old docking cleats side by side.
The rustic wood cleat on the right,....for many years functioned perfectly, is no longer,....has since crumbled into obscurity.
Docking cleat; a metal or wood deck fitting for securing a rope having opposing horns around which lines are made fast and is approximately anvil shaped.
