Lubec Channel Light also known as (the sparkplug) lighthouse in Lubec, Maine. Built in 1890, automated in 1939, it is in shallow water in Lubec Channel, about 500 feet (150 m) from the Canadian border.
Construction material: Cast iron with brick lining
The lighthouse is privately owned, but the light and fog signal remain active U.S. Coast Guard aids to navigation.
Lubec Channel Light was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Lubec Channel Light Station on March 14, 1988.
Height of tower: 40 feet; Height of focal plane: 53 feet
Original optic: Fifth-order Fresnel; Present optic: 155 mm (solar powered)
Characteristic: Flashing white every six seconds
Fog signal: One blast every 15 seconds
