Down east Maine has many beautiful wetlands that are frequented by a wide variety of migratory wildlife such as this great blue heron seen here wading stealthily while scanning the water for aquatic prey . Great blue herons may move slowly but can strike like lightning to grab an unsuspecting nutritious morsel from the shallow waters. This particular wetland is one of many located in down east Lubec, Maine
